Now Instant Image Hall

2023
Chinatown, Los Angeles, CA

The Now Instant Image Hall situates itself on Chung King Road in Los Angeles’ Chinatown. The site, a 2500 sq. ft. storefront, is adapted in a way that reflects the visual ethos of Now Instant while contextualizing itself in the surrounding storefronts and facades. The space is segmented into 3 parts: a book store, a viewing room, and an intimate lounge space found in the lower level. In partnership with LOC Architects, the materiality, details, and bold, graphic motifs lend themselves to each respective space. Considering each function, the materials shift in texture, application, and treatment that respond to the atmosphere and function of eachm, with a connective green thread that synthesizes the visual identity of Now Instant.

The Now Instant Image Hall expands past cinema, serving as a community space for artists and creatives to showcase their work. Since its conception, the space has played host to book & magazine launches, local video pieces, and films.
